scanner problem

Hi folks. When I turned on my HP scanner this morning, neither OpenBook or HP Scan Pro software could initialize the scanner. The scanner worked a couple days ago. Any suggestions? I hope the scanner isn't broken, it was loaned to me!

I found the solution to my problem. it turned out the the scanner had a loose plug. After i plugged it back it in, it worked right.
